How Copy Trading Works on OnlyCrypto

What Is Copy Trading?

Copy trading is exactly what it sounds like: you copy the trades of a professional trader. When they buy, you buy. When they sell, you sell. The key difference from traditional investing is that you don't need to make any decisions yourself.

It's not a new concept — copy trading has existed in traditional finance for decades. What OnlyCrypto does differently is run the entire system on the XRP Ledger, making payouts instant, transparent, and borderless.

The Two Sides of Copy Trading

Every copy trading platform has two types of participants:

Lead Traders

These are verified, experienced traders who list their strategies on OnlyCrypto's marketplace. They trade their own capital using their own methods. They earn a percentage of the profits they generate for followers.

Traders on OnlyCrypto earn $10 per new member who joins under them (up to a $500 lifetime cap), plus override commissions from their referral network.

Members (Followers)

Members pay a monthly or annual subscription to follow one or more traders. They don't manage trades themselves — the trader handles everything. Members earn based on the performance of the trader they follow.

1. Activate Your Membership

Pay your membership fee in XRP. Starter ($99) or Pro ($249). Your membership is activated instantly once the transaction confirms on the XRP Ledger — usually within 5 seconds.

2. Explore the Trader Marketplace

Every trader on OnlyCrypto has a public profile with:

• Trading style (scalping, day trading, swing, position, algorithmic)
• Risk level (low, moderate, high, aggressive)
• Performance history
• Number of active followers

3. Follow Your Trader

Once you've picked your trader, confirm your selection inside your dashboard. Your account is now linked to that trader's activity.

4. Profits Are Distributed

As your trader generates returns, your share is calculated and distributed to your XRP wallet. You don't need to do anything — the payout system runs automatically.

What If My Trader Loses?

Risk is real in crypto. No trader wins every trade. OnlyCrypto's traders operate across different risk profiles — the marketplace clearly labels each one. Members can switch traders if they're not satisfied with performance.

What copy trading does NOT do is eliminate risk. It reduces the complexity of trading — the research, the chart-reading, the emotional decision-making. But market risk always exists.

Understanding Drawdown

Drawdown is the term for how much a trader's portfolio drops from its peak before recovering. A trader with a 20% drawdown means at some point, the portfolio was down 20% from its highest value before climbing back up.

OnlyCrypto's marketplace shows drawdown data for each trader. A trader with low risk but high historical drawdown is worth questioning. A trader with aggressive style but managed drawdown has good risk discipline.

The Referral Layer

OnlyCrypto adds something most copy trading platforms don't have: a referral compensation plan.

When you refer a friend to OnlyCrypto, you earn a commission on their membership. They can refer their friends, and you earn on those memberships too — up to 7 levels deep.

This isn't a replacement for trading profits. It's an additional income stream for active community builders.
